Private catering is the opposite of a package. A dinner for twelve in your dining room, a retirement gathering in a company boardroom, a rehearsal dinner in a rented house, a milestone anniversary with the family flown in. The menu starts from who is coming and what they will remember, and the service is scaled to the room.
That can mean a plated dinner with courses, a hot buffet set in your kitchen, or appetizers and a grazing table for an evening of standing and talking. Desserts and a cake come from the same kitchen. We arrive, set, serve if you want it, and clear.
Dinner starts at $15 per person, appetizers at $11. Tell us the occasion, the headcount and the room and we write the menu around it.

Akron’s private dinners cluster in the neighborhoods with the dining rooms: the older houses along Portage Path and Merriman Road in the Valley, the brick colonials of Fairlawn Heights and West Akron, the Victorian blocks near Highland Square, and the newer homes in Hudson, Bath and Copley. The kitchen at 647 E Market Street is central, so a plated dinner can be finished in your kitchen minutes after it leaves ours. We ask on the request form about oven and counter space, parking and whether the house has a side entrance, because serving a dinner quietly depends on those details.

What is the difference between private catering and party catering?
Scale and tone. Private catering is a seated dinner or a small, quiet gathering with a menu written for the specific guests. Party catering is a bigger room with a buffet or stations. Either way, tell us the occasion and we steer you to the right plan.
Do you serve the meal, or just drop it off?
Your choice. For a private dinner most hosts want someone from the team to serve and clear so they can stay at the table. Drop off with setup is available for a casual evening.
How small a group will you cater?
A dinner for eight is a real job and we take it. Tell us the headcount, the room and the budget per person and we will say honestly whether the plan works for your date.
What does a private dinner cost per person?
Dinner starts at $15 per person and appetizers at $11, as floors from our request form. Service, plated courses and the menu move the number, so give us a budget per person and we build to it.
