A birthday party has one guest who matters and a room full of people who want to be fed. We handle both. The menu is built around the crowd, from a taco bar for teenagers to a plated dinner for a seventieth, and the custom birthday cake comes from the same kitchen, decorated to the theme, delivered with the food so there is one van in the driveway.
Kids’ parties lean on food that travels around a backyard: dessert cups, fruit, a buffet that holds. Milestone birthdays in a rented hall run as a dinner or a heavy appetizer evening. Surprise parties need everything staged before the guest of honor walks in, and we plan the timing to the minute you give us.
Appetizers and grazing start at $11 per person, lunch spreads at $13, dinner at $15 and the dessert side at $6. Tell us the age, the headcount and the room.

The small birthdays happen at home. First birthdays and kids’ parties fill the backyards and basements of Ellet, Firestone Park, Goodyear Heights and Kenmore every weekend, and the newer subdivisions in Green, Copley and Stow do the same with bigger patios. Milestone birthdays move to a rented room: a church hall, a community center room through the city’s Recreation and Parks rentals, or a ballroom at Guy’s on East Waterloo.
The cake photo on this page is a real tenth birthday from the kitchen at 647 E Market Street. Themed cakes, dessert cups in the party colors and a fruit display are the usual birthday order alongside the food, and the whole thing travels anywhere from downtown to Hudson and on a scheduled run to Kent, Canton, Medina and Cleveland.

This place offers ALL of your catering needs. I don't believe there is anything she can't provide for you. I have had SO many meals and attended SO many events. The Taste of the City (Akron) she provided so many great "samples". An outdoor hibachi grill party with all the trimmings, steak, shrimp, chicken, rice, fresh vegetables also one of my favorites. The taco bar and loaded potatoes are great for staff meetings. The seafood is always top quality, the largest shrimp! The desserts made from scratch are amazing. Can you do the birthday cake and the food together?
Yes, and it is the reason to call one kitchen. The cake is made and decorated in house and delivered with the food, so there is one delivery and the design matches the party.
What works best for a kids’ birthday party?
Food that holds and travels: a buffet or taco bar for the adults, dessert cups and a fruit display the kids can grab, and the themed cake. Tell us the age and the headcount and we size it.
Can you set up a surprise party before the guest arrives?
Yes. Give us the arrival time and we set the food, the display and the cake ahead of it and are out of the driveway before the car pulls in, or stay to serve if you want it handled.
How far ahead should a birthday party be booked?
Two weeks for the food and the cake together. Summer Saturdays and December fill early across Akron, so send the date as soon as you have it.
